Jack Jouett Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on February 13, 1922, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Our organizing regent was Mrs. Isabel Mason Chamberlain Cochran.
The members of Jack Jouett Chapter, NSDAR, are comprised of women from a variety of professions and walks of life. We all are vitally interested and involved in the DAR. We devote hundreds of volunteer hours to our community, veterans services, patriotic endeavors, education, and historical preservation.
Any woman 18 years or older who meets the following requirements is eligible to join the DAR. She must prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide accurate and verifiable documentation supporting her relationship with the Patriot ancestor.
